About This Episode
Living with a narcissistic husband, wife or partner, or anyone else with narcissistic traits is undoubtedly challenging. While you may love your partner very much (or not anymore!), their narcissistic tendencies can make it difficult (to say the least) for you to live with them and feel loved in return. It may have taken you some time to realize that his or her personality is sadly all about ‘me, myself and I’. You (and possibly others) may now be thinking of them as selfish, pompous, arrogant, snooty, overbearing, big-headed and/or a user, who never-ever apologizes for their behaviour.
In today’s episode, my guest Tierra Womack, Founder of The Brave Way not only shares her story but also her knowledge. She talks about her experience living with narcissistic partners, and how she was able to get out of it. Learning to be brave is certainly one of the things she struggled with, but looking back, she can say she is grateful to them! She is now on a mission to help survivors thrive after narcissistic abuse, get their confidence back and find their life’s purpose.
In today’s episode, we talk about:
- Who a narcissist exactly is and how to detect narcissistic tendencies in people
- The 6 types of narcissists
- Why an unhealthy and a toxic relationship are one and the same thing
- How to tell whether you are in a toxic relationship before it is too late
- Tips on how to gather the courage to get out of a toxic relationship with a narcissist
- Shifting your mindset to avoid the victim mentality.
- Characteristics of an emotionally mature person
Recovering from narcissistic abuse means that you have to dig deep to reveal the many layers of trauma. You have to acknowledge that it isn’t going to be easy to go through all the painful realizations of your past but that is extremely important to work through each layer and grieve your losses. Don’t do it alone; reach out to Tierra who will help get you there…The Brave Way.
